Winter Storm Caleb Update Three

11:00 AM AST Tuesday 12 November 2019
Rainfall warning in effect for:

Pictou County
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Storm moving into the region will bring significant rainfall today and tonight.

Rain has begun across Nova Scotia and will continue into tonight. Total rainfall accumulations are expected to be quite variable, with forecast amounts ranging from 30 to 65 mm and locally higher amounts possible along parts of the Atlantic coast.

Rain will change to flurries over western Nova Scotia overnight into Wednesday as cold westerly winds move into the region and temperatures quickly fall below freezing.

Driving conditions may become difficult overnight or Wednesday morning as the cold air and flurries push eastward across the province.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NSstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NSStorm.
