...An area of heavy snow will affect central Hancock and southwestern
Penobscot Counties...

At 1018 PM EDT...An area of moderate to heavy snow was near
Newport...moving northeast AT 30 MPH.

Locations impacted include...
Bangor, Old Town, Ellsworth, Bucksport, Dexter, Newport, Orono,
Brewer, Hampden, Hermon, Corinth, Veazie, Dedham, Kenduskeag, Verona
Island, Indian Island, Grand Falls, East Corinth, Glenburn and
Orrington.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 95 between mile markers 157 and 210.
 US Highway 1 near Orland.
 State Highway 11 between Newport and Bradford.
 State Highway 9 between Dixmont and Aurora.

  * Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a half mile in this
  area of heavy snow.

  * Snowfall rates upwards of 1 to 1.5 inches per hour are occurring
  in this area of moderate to heavy snow.

Motorists should expect snow covered and slick roadways.
