Rainfall warning in effect for:

Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County

Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Total rainfall: 30 to 50 mm.

Locations: Eastern mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island.

Time span: rain will taper off early Tuesday morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
