Mid-November Winter Storm To Bring First Widespread Snowfall Of The Season

Snowfall warning in effect for:

Fredericton and Southern York County

Significant snowfall of 15 to 30 cm expected beginning tomorrow.

Total snowfall: near 15 cm over southwestern New Brunswick, and 20 to 30 cm over central and northern regions.

Locations: parts of New Brunswick.

Time span: Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night.

Remarks: Snow will begin in the southwest near noon on Wednesday and spread to the central and northern areas Wednesday afternoon. Snowfall rates will be intense at times during Wednesday's evening commute in many areas, leading to difficult driving conditions. Areas near Mt Carleton and the Renous Highway will see the most accumulation from this weather event.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
