AN INTENSE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKED SOUTH OF NEWFOUNDLAND ON
SATURDAY MORNING AND ACROSS THE AVALON PENINSULA SATURDAY NIGHT.
HEAVY SNOW, STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW DEVELOPED OVER SOUTHWESTERN
NEWFOUNDLAND LATE OVERNIGHT FRIDAY AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM.
CONDITIONS SPREAD TO THE REMAINDER OF THE ISLAND THROUGHOUT SATURDAY
MORNING AND TAPERED TO INTERMITTENT LIGHT SNOW SATURDAY EVENING.
OVER SOME SOUTHERN REGIONS THE SNOW CHANGED TO OR BECAME MIXED WITH
ICE PELLETS AND FREEZING RAIN. FOR THE AVALON AND BURIN PENINSULAS
THE SNOW CHANGED OVER TO ICE PELLETS AND FREEZING RAIN AND THEN
EVENTUALLY OVER TO RAIN SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT MOVED NORTH OF NOVA SCOTIA BROUGHT A
MIXED BAG OF WINTER WEATHER TO PARTS OF NOVA SCOTIA. PRECIPITATION
GENERALLY STARTED AS SNOW BUT CHANGED TO ICE PELLETS OR FREEZING
RAIN BEFORE CHANGING COMPLETELY TO RAIN FOR MOST OF THE PROVINCE.
PARTS OF THE PROVINCE SAW GUSTY WINDS BUT LES SUETES WIND
OVER CAPE BRETON WERE PARTICULARLY STRONG FOR THIS STORM.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM PASSED JUST SOUTH OF NEW BRUNSWICK LAST NIGHT.
SNOW AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM STARTED EARLY FRIDAY MORNING IN
SOUTHWESTERN REGIONS AND SPREAD TO THE NORTHEAST BY EARLY AFTERNOON.
OVER REGIONS ALONG THE FUNDY COAST THE SNOW CHANGED THROUGH ICE
PELLETS AND FREEZING RAIN TO RAIN IN THE AFTERNOON. OVER CENTRAL
REGIONS THE SNOW CHANGED TO ICE PELLETS THEN TO FREEZING RAIN IN THE
EVENING, WITH NEAR 9 HOURS OF FREEZING RAIN REPORTED IN GAGETOWN.
