Air Quality Advisories In Effect For Southern NB And NS Due To Wildfire Smoke

Special air quality statement in effect for:

Fredericton and Southern York County
Smoke from wildfires in central Canada will persist over southern New Brunswick into early Thursday morning. Until that time, smoke from the plume may descend to the ground and cause a local reduction in air quality.

Special air quality statement in effect for:

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Smoke is causing poor air quality and reducing visibility. Smoke is expected or occurring.

Smoke from forests fires to the west has moved into western mainland Nova Scotia and will persist there into Thursday afternoon. Smoke was observed near Greenwood in the Annapolis Valley.

The smoke will spread into Cape Breton by early Thursday morning, and will dissipate Thursday evening.

Until that time, smoke from the plume may descend to the ground and cause a local reduction in air quality.
