Mid-March Winter Storm Update One

Freezing rain warning in effect for:

Cumberland County North and Cobequid Pass
Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Locations: Counties along the Northumberland Strait, Guysborough County, and all of Cape Breton.

Time span: late this evening and ending tomorrow morning in most areas.

Remarks: Precipitation will transition to freezing rain late this evening and continue into tomorrow morning before changing to rain. Parts of Victoria county may see freezing rain last into tomorrow afternoon causing an increased risk for ice build up.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Utility outages may occur.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
