Extratropical Storm Andrea event summary
The remains of Tropical Storm Andrea which formed in the east-central Gulf of Mexico on the evening of June 5, 2013, raced rapidly northeast and produced heavy rainfall across parts of northern and eastern Maine on June 7-8, 2013. The heaviest rainfall totals were observed across coastal Washington and coastal Hancock counties as well as southern Penobscot County where rainfall amounts of 2-2.5 inches were common. The highest rainfall total of 2.68 inches was observed at Old Town in southern Penobscot County. Rainfall amounts dropped off to an inch or less across far northern and western Maine.
