Flood Watch
National Weather Service Caribou ME
1019 AM EDT Mon Apr 15 2019

...RAINFALL AND SNOWMELT COULD LEAD TO ICE JAM AND SMALL RIVER
FLOODING...

.Warm temperatures over the last few days have caused increased
snowmelt and have weakened the remaining river ice across
Northern Maine. Rainfall will continue through the day with an
additional half inch of rain expected by this evening. The rain
and snowmelt will continue to elevate small streams and creeks
across the Flood Watch area. Small river flooding is expected to
bring localized impacts to the region. River ice will continue to
move on the Aroostook and Saint John River systems over the next
36 hours. Ice jam flooding could be possible, especially in areas
that had pre-existing ice jams from this past winter.
