...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 to 60
  mph expected.

* WHERE...Northwest Aroostook, Northeast Aroostook, Northern
  Somerset, Northern Piscataquis, Northern Penobscot, Southeast
  Aroostook, Central Piscataquis, Central Penobscot and Southern
  Piscataquis Counties.

* WHEN...From 6 AM to 6 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Numerous power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
  especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.

Wind warning in effect for:

Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum wind gusts: 90 km/h except 110 in the Tantramar Marsh area.

Location: Southern New Brunswick.

Time span: Friday morning and afternoon.

Remarks: Strong and gusty southwesterly winds are expected ahead of a cold front on Friday. These winds will strengthen in the southwest Friday morning and spread to southeastern New Brunswick by noon. Winds will diminish in the afternoon or early evening.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Remarks: Strong and gusty southwesterly winds are expected to develop Friday morning ahead of a cold front. These winds will persist through the afternoon and diminish from west to east beginning late Friday afternoon. Wind warnings may be expanded eastward with future forecasts.

* WHAT...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
  expected.

* WHEN...From 5 AM to 8 PM EDT Friday.

  powerlines. Scattered to numerous power outages may result.

Location: Northwestern New Brunswick.

Remarks: The heaviest rains will begin late this evening and end Friday morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
