A low pressure system will develop over Southeastern United States today then intensify and track northeastward over the Maritimes on Thursday. Winds gusting up to 90 km/h are expected for the above regions on Thursday with gusts as high as 110 km/h from the Margaree Harbour to bay St. Lawrence area of Cape Breton. Rainfall amounts up to 40 millimetres can also be expected from this system.

Southeasterly winds gusting to 140 km/h are expected Thursday afternoon.
This is a warning that potentially hazardous winds are expected in the Wreckhouse area of Southwestern Newfoundland. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
A developing low pressure system is forecast to lie over the Northeastern United States this evening. The low will then rapidly deepen as it tracks northeastward through the Gulf of St. Lawrence to lie over Southeastern Labrador by Thursday evening. Strong southeasterly winds will develop in the Wreckhouse area Thursday morning ahead of this system with gusts forecast to reach 140 km/h Thursday afternoon. As this system passes, strong southwesterly winds will develop with gusts up to 120 km/h forecast for regions along the west coast Thursday evening. The strong southwesterly winds will spread across the rest of the island Thursday night so wind warnings will likely need to be expanded.
In addition, elevated water levels, high waves, and pounding surf are expected for regions along the west coast of Newfoundland and along the Strait of Belle Isle Thursday evening. This could result in coastal flooding or erosion as well as infrastructure damage along exposed coastline especially during high tide.

Grand Falls and Victoria County continued
Snow at times heavy will begin overnight bringing 15-25 centimetres to the above regions.

is a warning that significant snowfall is expected in these regions.

A low pressure system will develop and intensify this evening near Cape
Hatteras. The low will track northeastward into the Bay of Fundy by
Thursday morning and into the Gulf of St Lawrence by Thursday evening.
Snow at times heavy will begin in Northwestern New Brunswick overnight
tonight, where 15-25 centimeters is possible by Thursday afternoon. The
rest of the province will see up to 40 millimeters of rain. Also strong
westerly winds, gusting up to 100 km/h, are expected to develop Thursday
afternoon in the wake of the low along the coast of the Gulf of St
Lawrence.
