Winter Storm Warnings are in effect over portions of northern New
York.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect over portions of central
New York and the Finger Lakes.

At 900 AM EST...A low pressure center with a central pressure of
986 mb, or 29.12 inches of mercury, was located just off the coast
of Prince Edward Island, Canada. An occluded boundary extended
east out into the Atlantic before branching off to a southward
extending cold front and eastward extending warm front
approximately 130 miles south of Newfoundland. Southwest of this
primary low pressure/frontal system was a secondary low pressure
center over the Bay of Fundy, with a central pressure of 988mb, or
29.18 inches of mercury. Far to the southwest of these features,
National Weather Service radars and surface observations indicated
primarily light snow was occurring over portions of the
Mid-Atlantic, north/central New York, and southern New England.

Over the next 18 hours, the low pressure/frontal system is
forecast slightly weaken as it slowly moves northward through the
Gulf of Saint Lawrence and into the Canadian Maritimes. Light to
moderate snow will linger throughout the day and into the early
morning, clearing the region as the system moves north. The
heaviest additional snowfall is expected along the northwestern
slopes of the Adirondacks, where accumulations of 4 to 8 inches is
possible.
