THE REMNANTS OF TROPICAL STORM DANNY WERE ABSORBED INTO A MARITIME
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM SATURDAY NIGHT. THIS SYSTEM CROSSED NEWFOUNDLAND
SUNDAY NIGHT. HEAVY RAIN WELL AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM BEGAN OVERNIGHT
SATURDAY IN SOUTHWESTERN NEWFOUNDLAND AND SPREAD ACROSS MUCH OF THE
ISLAND ON SUNDAY. THIS RAIN MOVED EAST OF THE ISLAND SUNDAY EVENING.
HIGH WINDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LOW BEGAN SUNDAY MORNING IN THE
SOUTHWEST AND IN THE AFTERNOON OVER EASTERN COASTAL REGIONS.
