...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 to 60 mph
  expected.

* WHERE...Southeast Aroostook, Central Penobscot and Northern
  Washington Counties.

* WHEN...From 6 AM to 6 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be
  difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Anyone planning extensive and...or
  detailed holiday cooking should note that potential for
  strongest winds and highest potential for power loss during
  this warning period will be late morning through early
  afternoon Friday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.

Rainfall warning in effect for:

Fredericton and Southern York County
Rain, heavy at times is expected.

Heavy rain and windy conditions are expected.

Total rainfall: 30 to 50 mm. Locally 60 mm possible.

Maximum wind gusts: 60 to 80 km/h with higher wind gusts possible along the Fundy Coast and over higher terrain.

Time span: Showers will develop on Friday then become periods of heavy rain on Friday evening. Rain is expected to switch to periods of snow by Saturday afternoon before ending on Saturday evening.
In addition, strong gusty winds will develop on Friday and they will reach close to the warning criteria (90 km/h) along the Fundy Coast. These strong winds will diminish by Saturday morning.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Special weather statement in effect for:

Woodstock and Carleton County
Warm, wet and windy for Friday and Saturday followed by periods of snow on Saturday evening.

Total rainfall: 20 to 50 mm. Locally 60 mm possible.

Total snowfall: 5 to 10 cm and locally possibly exceeding 15 cm.

Maximum wind gusts: 70 to 90 km/h with the highest gusts along the Fundy coast, and over higher terrain, beginning on Friday and tapering off late on Saturday.

Locations: all of New Brunswick.

Time span: Light rain will begin on Friday, and intensify on Saturday before moving east of the province late on Saturday. Rain is likely to switch to snow for most areas late on Saturday and overnight into Sunday.

Remarks: A low pressure system approaching from the Great Lakes will bring rain to the province beginning on Friday and intensifying overnight into Saturday. Winds will strengthen ahead of this system, especially along the Fundy Coast and over higher terrain. Conditions will improve Saturday night.
