Queens County P.E.I.
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum gusts: 90 km/h along parts of the coast.

Location: Prince Edward Island.

Time span: Monday morning until early Monday afternoon.

Remarks: A fast moving trough of low pressure will bring strong winds and higher than normal water levels on Monday.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum gusts: southerly gusting to 90 km/h along parts of the coast.

Locations: Cape Breton

Time span: Monday morning until Monday afternoon.

Remarks: a fast moving trough of low pressure will bring a short period of heavy rain and strong winds as it passes over the province on Monday.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Storm surge warning in effect for:

Yarmouth County
High Storm Surge levels and large waves are expected to impact the coast.

Locations: south facing shorelines from Shelburne west to Cape Sable then north to western Digby County.

Maximum water levels: exceeding highest astronomical tides.

Maximum Wave height: 4 to 5 metres.

Time span: Monday late morning to early afternoon with peak tides near noon.

Remarks: Coastal flooding due to large high tides, storm surge and some wave activity. There will also be higher than normal water levels east to Halifax, but not at warning levels.

Coastal flooding is possible along the shoreline. Coastal flooding is likely. Coastal erosion is possible in vulnerable areas. Stay away from affected shorelines.

western half of Restigouche County
Snowfall amount: 15 cm with potentially more over higher terrain.

Locations: Northwestern New Brunswick.

Time span: Beginning this evening and ending Monday morning.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Mount Carleton - Renous Highway
Significant snowfall expected beginning tonight.

Total snowfall: 10 cm or more.

Locations: North central New Brunswick.

Time span: Sunday night through Monday morning.

Remarks: A low pressure system will approach from the west tonight. Snow will develop ahead of the low tonight and persist into Monday morning. The snow will be wet and mixed at times with rain or ice pellets. Current indications suggest snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm before the snow changes to rain on Monday morning.

High Storm Surge levels and large waves are expected to impact the coast.

Locations: southeast facing shorelines of the Acadian Peninsula south to Miramichi.

Maximum water levels: exceeding highest astronomical tides.

Maximum Wave height: 3 to 4 metres.

Time span: Monday early to late afternoon with high tide peaking near mid afternoon.

Remarks: coastal flooding due to large high tides, storm surge and some wave activity.

High waves combined with the surge may cause damage along the coast. Coastal flooding is possible along the shoreline. Coastal erosion is possible in vulnerable areas. Stay away from affected shorelines.
