Southern Maritimes Snowstorm Update Three

Southern Maritimes Snowstorm Update Two

11:24 AM ADT Monday 04 April 2022
Snowfall warning in effect for:

Cumberland County North and Cobequid Pass
Significant snowfall today.

Additional amounts: 15 to 25 cm over Antigonish, Pictou, Guysborough, and Cape Breton and 5-10cm elsewhere over mainland NS.

Locations: Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, Hants County, parts of Colchester county, Pictou county, Antigonish county and Cape Breton.

Time span: today.

Remarks: A low pressure system will pass just south of Nova Scotia today, bringing a mix of snow and rain. Highest snowfall amounts will occur over northeastern Nova Scotia and could exceed 30 cm. Mix of snow and rain elsewhere this morning and early this afternoon will result in lower snowfall amounts for those counties. Precipitation will taper off from west to east this evening.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
