Rainfall warning for
Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County issued
Potential for rainfall up to 40 millimetres on Wednesday.
This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
A low pressure system over the Northeastern United States will track northeastward into Quebec and intensify on Wednesday bringing significant rainfall amounts to parts of the Maritimes. The greatest amounts are forecast for the eastern Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia. Total rainfall amounts up to 40 millimetres are expected. Localized flooding and hazardous road conditions are possible. Rain is expected to end Wednesday night.
This system will also bring strong southeasterly winds especially to the Margaree Harbour to Bay St Lawrence area of Cape Breton where southeast wind gusts of up to 130 km/h are forecast Wednesday afternoon and evening.
