Thunderstorm brings power outages

Last Updated: Jul 2, 2012 3:57 PM A thunderstorm is rolling across Nova Scotia, knocking out power to hundreds of people.

Heavy rain, along with thunder and lightning, hit parts of the province on Monday. Several counties were under a severe thunderstorm warning.

About 1,700 people in the Bedford and Sackville area, as well as the Antigonish area, were without electricity as of 3:30 p.m.

Nova Scotia Power said it expected to have the lights back on by 5 p.m.
