MIDNIGHT EST THURSDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6
  inches.

* WHERE...Northern Washington, Southeast Aroostook, Northeast
  Aroostook, and Northwest Aroostook Counties.

* WHEN...From 9 AM Thursday to Midnight EST Thursday Night.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
  conditions could impact the Thursday evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause
primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited
visibilities, and use caution while driving.

Special weather statement in effect for:

Fredericton and Southern York County
Significant snowfall expected.

Total snowfall: 10 to 15 cm with higher amounts possible.

Locations: most of New Brunswick

Time span: Thursday near noon to Friday morning.

Remarks: Snow is expected to begin over western New Brunswick Thursday near noon and will spread eastward through the day. Road conditions will deteriorate through the day and evening. Snow tapers to flurries overnight Thursday into Friday. The snow will be light and fluffy in nature particularly in central and northern regions.

Saint John and County
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

Locations: Southernmost New Brunswick

Time span: Thursday near noon until Friday morning.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County
Significant snowfall expected.

Total snowfall: possibly reaching or exceeding 15 cm.

Maximum wind gusts: easterly 70 km/h possibly higher along parts of the Atlantic coast.

Locations: northern and eastern mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton.

Time span: Thursday afternoon to Friday morning.

Remarks: Snow is expected to begin over southwestern parts of the province Thursday afternoon and spread eastward to Cape Breton late Thursday evening. As the snow intensifies Thursday night, driving conditions will deteriorate impacting those traveling. The snow may change to rain over southwestern parts of the province Thursday evening.

Conditions will improve Friday morning with the departure of the storm.

Remarks: Snow is expected to begin over western parts of the province Thursday afternoon and spread east Thursday evening.
