Late November Storm Update Five

8:54 AM AST Wednesday 24 November 2021
Special weather statement in effect for:

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Light snowfall today.

Snowfall amount: 2 cm on grassy surfaces, upwards of 5 cm locally.

Locations: central Nova Scotia, including Halifax county.

Timing: today, continuing this evening.

Remarks: Light snow is falling across portions of Nova Scotia this morning as a low pressure system lies to the southeast of the province. Accumulations at this time are not expected to amount to more than 5 cm locally. The snow should remain fairly wet in nature as temperatures remain near freezing today. The snow may be mixed with freezing drizzle at times in areas away from the coast.

Motorists are advised to be prepared for winter driving conditions: bridge decks freeze before other road surfaces. See snow, go slow!
