Special weather statement in effect for:

Halifax County - east of Porters Lake
Rain and wind is expected on Monday.

Total rainfall: 30 to 50 mm. Locally higher amounts possible.

Maximum wind gusts: 60 to 80 km/h. Stronger coastal gusts possible.

Locations: eastern Nova Scotia.

Time span: Late Sunday night into Monday afternoon.

Remarks: Rain associated with a low pressure system tracking over eastern Nova Scotia will begin late Sunday night and become heavy, at times, Monday morning with strong southeasterly winds. The rain is expected taper to showers with diminishing winds by Monday afternoon.

There remains some uncertainty in the exact track and strength of this system which will affect where the heaviest rain will fall. Rain and wind warnings may be required as the system drawn nearer.
