June 1st-15th 2014 Climate Summary for northern and eastern Maine

June is off to a warmer than normal start during the first half of the month at Caribou and Bangor. 

Through June 15th, the average temperature at Caribou of 62.0 degrees is 3.2 degrees above normal. It was the warmest first half of June since 2005. The first 12 days of the month all featured an average temperature that was above normal. Temperatures this month have ranged from a low of 44 degrees on the morning of the 11th to a high of 84 degrees on the afternoon of the 8th.

A total of 1.47 inches of rain has been observed so far this month at Caribou, which is just 18 hundredths of an inch (0.18") below normal.

At Bangor, the average temperature this month of 62.7 degrees is 1.6 degrees above normal. It was the warmest first half of June at Bangor since 2008. Temperatures during the first half of June ranged from a low of 41 degrees on the 1st to a high of 89 degrees on the 9th.

A total of 1.36 inches of rain has been observed at Bangor so far this month, which is 63 hundredths of an inch (0.63") below normal. It has been the driest start to June at Bangor since 2004.
