...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow
accumulations between 4 and 10 inches, sleet accumulations up to
one tenth of an inch and ice accumulations around one tenth of an
inch.
* WHERE...Central Piscataquis, Northern Penobscot, and Southeast
Aroostook Counties.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. The strong winds and weight of
snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic
power outages. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Friday morning commute.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet, and
ice will make travel extremely dangerous.

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations
between 2 and 4 inches and ice accumulations up to a tenth of an
inch
* WHERE...Southern Piscataquis, Northern Washington, Central
Penobscot, and Southern Penobscot Counties.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Friday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the early Friday morning commute.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Hancock County and coastal and central Washington County
* WHEN...From 1 AM EST Friday through Friday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks,
streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Locally heavy rainfall is expected Friday morning into the
afternoon with total amounts of 1.5 to 2.25 inches possible
with locally higher amounts. Frozen ground will have
difficulty absorbing the heavy rainfall, which could cause
pooling in roadways and low lying areas.

Significant rainfall is expected.
Total rainfall: 25 to 40 mm.
Locations: western and parts of northern Nova Scotia.
Time span: Starting Friday morning and persisting into Saturday.
Remarks: A mix of snow and rain will begin overnight tonight over western areas of Nova Scotia and will change to rain as it spreads to the rest of the province Friday morning. Periods of rain, at times heavy, are expected to taper off late in the day Saturday.

Queens County P.E.I.
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.
Snowfall amounts of up to 20 cm are expected.
Timeframe: Friday morning until Friday afternoon.
Remarks: Snow at times heavy will begin Friday morning. The snow will change to rain Friday afternoon and then persist through the day Saturday.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.

Winter storm warning in effect for:
Fredericton and Southern York County
Hazardous winter conditions are expected.
Total snowfall:
- northern and northeastern New Brunswick: 20 to 30 cm, locally up to 40 cm.
- central New Brunswick: 15 to 25 cm.
Freezing rain duration: 3 to 6 hours, except up to 12 hours for central New Brunswick.
Locations: central and northern New Brunswick.
Time span: overnight tonight until Saturday evening.
Remarks: Light snow will begin tonight, spreading across the province and intensifying by early Friday morning. Then a changeover to rain is expected by Friday evening, with freezing rain in the changeover period. A prolonged period of freezing rain is possible for some areas.
Rain is forecast to change back over to freezing rain or snow Saturday morning. Precipitation will taper off Saturday evening.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Locations: southern and central New Brunswick, including Moncton and Fredericton.
Time span: Friday afternoon until Saturday morning.
Remarks: Snow will begin tonight, changing to rain, at times heavy, Friday afternoon. The rain is expected to transition back to freezing rain or snow Saturday morning.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
