THE METEOROLOGICAL WINTER IS THE 3-MONTH PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 1ST
THROUGH THE END OF FEBRUARY.
DURING THE WINTER OF 2013-14 THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE AT CARIBOU
WAS 12.6 DEGREES...WHICH WAS 1.4 DEGREES BELOW AVERAGE (1981-2010
AVERAGES). IT WAS THE COLDEST WINTER AT CARIBOU SINCE THE WINTER OF
2008-09.
SNOWFALL DURING THIS 3-MONTH PERIOD WAS 89.3 INCHES...WHICH WAS
18.6 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. IT WAS THE SNOWIEST METEOROLOGICAL
WINTER SINCE 2007-08.
AT BANGOR...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE DURING THE 3-MONTH PERIOD OF
18.5 DEGREES WAS 2.6 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. IT WAS THE COLDEST
METEOROLOGICAL WINTER SINCE 2008-09.
SNOWFALL DURING THIS 3-MONTH PERIOD WAS 62.5 INCHES...WHICH WAS
23.5 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. IT WAS THE SNOWIEST METEOROLOGICAL
WINTER SINCE 2010-11.
