...Forecast flooding changed to Minor severity and increased in

duration for the following rivers in New Hampshire...

  Saco River At Conway affecting Carroll County.

For the Saco River...including Conway, West Buxton...Minor flooding

is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law

enforcement and request they pass this information to the National

Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Saco River at Conway.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, Expect flooding of low-bottom fields and

  private roads in Conway and North Conway. Minor flooding in

  Transvale Acres, Moat Brook Bridge, and the lower part of E. Road

  flood.

  At 10.0 feet, Minor flooding occurs as floodwaters surround

  properties across Transvale Acres. Flood waters 1 to 2 feet deep

  in sections of east bank camping areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 8:15 PM EDT Friday the stage was 10.2 feet.

  - Recent Activity...The Saco River at Conway is cresting now at

    10.2 ft.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage

    late tonight and continue falling to 3.4 feet early Monday

    afternoon.

  - Flood stage is 9.0 feet.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be

  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Central Highlands, Coastal DownEast, Far

  Eastern, Interior DownEast, North Woods, and Penobscot Valley

  Maine, including the following areas, in Central Highlands Maine,

  Central Piscataquis, Northern Penobscot and Southern Piscataquis.

  In Coastal DownEast Maine, Coastal Hancock and Coastal Washington.

  In Far Eastern Maine, Northern Washington and Southeast Aroostook.

  In Interior DownEast Maine, Central Washington and Interior

  Hancock. In North Woods Maine, Northern Piscataquis and Northern

  Somerset. In Penobscot Valley Maine, Central Penobscot and

  Southern Penobscot.

* WHEN...Until 8 AM EDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks,

  streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and

  streams may rise out of their banks. Storm drains and ditches may

  become clogged with debris.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - Locally heavy rainfall will occur across the area into

    Saturday morning. Storm total amounts of 2 to 4 inches are

    possible.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of western Maine, including the following

  counties, Franklin and Oxford.

* WHEN...Until 1230 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying

  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams

  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 813 PM EDT, Rivers and streams are still running near or

    above flood stage across the region from earlier heavy

    rainfall. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Bethel, Rumford, Dixfield, Andover, Mexico, Weld, Grafton,

    Phillips, Wilton, and Carthage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are

potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded

roads. Find an alternate route.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where

you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become

killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or

creeks.

Fredericton and Southern York County

Heavy rain is expected.

Total rainfall: 50 to 70 mm.

Locations: all of New Brunswick except eastern sections.

Time span: overnight and through the day Saturday.

Remarks: Rain, heavy at times, will develop later this evening and persist Saturday. Storm drains should be kept clear of leaves and debris to help with drainage.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County

Significant rainfall possible Saturday.

Total rainfall: 25 to 50 mm, locally higher amounts possible.

Locations: Queens, Annapolis, southern Inverness, Victoria, Richmond, and Cape Breton counties.

Time span: through the day on Saturday.

Remarks: For western Nova Scotia, the rain will begin tonight and persist Saturday. A different disturbance will spread heavy rain across Cape Breton Saturday night into Sunday. Rainfall warnings may be expanded as this event draws nearer.
