...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.

* WHERE...Portions of central, northern and southern New
  Hampshire and south central, southwest and western Maine.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Areas of dense fog have been intermittent
  today, but a several hour period of dense fog is expected during
  the evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of
distance ahead of you.

Wind warning in effect for:

Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Highest wind gusts: near 100 km/h

Location: Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia and parts of the Fundy coast.

Timeframe: overnight tonight and Tuesday morning

Remarks: Strong southerly winds will develop tonight with gusts reaching 100 km/h before morning along the South Shore. These strong winds will move up the coast toward Halifax and the Eastern Shore in the early morning hours on Tuesday, and reach the Cape Breton coast by mid morning. Winds will begin to diminish along the South Shore on Tuesday morning and by Tuesday afternoon over Cape Breton.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Saint John and County
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Highest wind gusts: near 90 km/h

Location: Fundy coast of New Brunswick.

Timeframe: late tonight and early Tuesday morning

Remarks: Strong southerly winds will develop tonight with gusts reaching 90 km/h before midnight along parts of the Fundy coast and diminish by early Tuesday morning.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Rainfall warning in effect for:

Saint John and County
Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

Total rainfall: 30 to 70 mm. Highest amounts expected near the Fundy Coast.

Locations: central and southern New Brunswick

Time frame: this afternoon, tonight, and Tuesday morning

Remarks: Rain, heavy at times will move into New Brunswick this afternoon and persist into the morning hours on Tuesday. This rain will be accompanied by mild temperatures and will lead to significant melting and runoff in areas with an existing snow pack. Strong gusty southwesterly winds are also expected tonight with gusts reaching 90 km/h along the Fundy coast where wind warnings have now been issued.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
