Rainfall warning for
Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County continued

50 to 100 millimetres of rain expected by Tuesday morning over Nova Scotia.

A low pressure system over Quebec will continue to track north tonight as it deepens. A frontal system from this low will slowly move across the Maritimes tonight. This feature will begin to draw moisture from tropical storm Leslie..Which is well to the south..And give rain at times heavy to the province tonight Monday and Monday night. Southern regions of the province will receive the majority of its rain tonight with amounts 50 to 70 millimetres forecast. The rain will make its way north overnight and reach Cape Breton by noon Monday. Total rainfall amounts of 100 millimetres are forecast for Cape Breton and Eastern Nova Scotia by Tuesday morning.

A low pressure system over Quebec will track north today as it deepens. A frontal system from this low will slowly move across the Maritimes today and tonight. This feature will give periods of rain to some areas today. Tonight the feature will begin to draw moisture from hurricane Leslie..Which is well to the south..And give rain at times heavy to the province tonight and Monday. Total rainfall amounts of up to 75 millimetres are currently forecast for mainland Nova Scotia by Monday evening. These amounts could increase as the track and intensity of the hurricane becomes clearer.
