Excessive Heat Warnings Issued For Southern NB & NS Except For Cape Breton - 08/25/2021

Heat Warning in effect for:

Fredericton and Southern York County
Temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius combined with overnight lows near 18 degrees Celsius are expected for the next 2 days.

A period of very warm and humid weather is expected.

Time span: today through Thursday.

Maximum temperature today: 30 degrees Celsius (Humidex 36).
Minimum temperature tonight: 18 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperature Thursday: 31 degrees Celsius (Humidex 36 to 39).

Locations: southern New Brunswick except near the coast.

Remarks: A warm and humid airmass will settle over the province today and Thursday. Temperatures are forecast to turn cooler over all areas on Thursday night.

Check on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Temperatures reaching 29 degrees Celsius combined with overnight lows near 18 degrees Celsius are expected for the next 2 days.

A period of very warm and humid weather is expected.

Time span: today through Thursday.

Maximum temperature today: 29 to 31 degrees Celsius (Humidex 33 to 39).
Minimum temperature tonight: 18 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperature Thursday: 29 to 31 degrees Celsius (Humidex 36 to 39).

Locations: Mainland Nova Scotia areas away from the coast.

Remarks: A warm and humid airmass will settle across the province today and Thursday. The highest values are expected to occur inland away from the coast. Temperatures are forecast to turn cooler over all areas on Thursday night.

Jersey.

At 1000 AM EDT...The surface low associated with Post-T.C. Henri
has moved east off the coast of Cape Cod, MA, with an estimated
minimum central pressure of 1009 mb, or approximately 29.8 inches
of mercury. A few showers remained over the Atlantic Ocean
southeast of Maine.
