Snowfall warning in effect for:

Hants County
Significant snowfall will continue this evening and into tonight.

Total snowfall: widespread 20 to 30 cm.

Locations: portions of mainland Nova Scotia.

Time span: tonight and early Friday morning.

Remarks: A low pressure system passing to the south of the province will continue to bring heavy snowfall and gusty winds of up to 70 km/h. The heaviest snowfall rates are expected this evening and into tonight. Conditions will improve from west to east on Friday morning.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
