Winter Storm Nova Update One

Freezing rain warning in effect for:

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Locations: parts of Nova Scotia.

Time span: ending overnight.

Remarks: Freezing rain and ice pellets will change to snow later tonight before ending Saturday morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
