.LOW PRESSURE APPROACHING FROM THE WEST WILL SET UP A STRONG
ONSHORE FLOW LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...WITH THE HIGHEST
WINDS EXPECTED IN THE EVENING. WIND GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH NEAR THE
IMMEDIATE COAST MAY RESULT IN DOWNED TREES AND POWER OUTAGES.
INLAND WIND GUSTS WILL MORE LIKELY BE BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH...AND
IMPACTS WILL BE MORE SCATTERED. WINDS WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH

THE COMBINATION OF THE EXPECTED RAINFALL AND MILDER TEMPERATURES
WILL RESULT IN THE POTENTIAL FOR ICE MOVEMENT AND ICE JAM

- Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Rain, at times heavy, is expected.
A low pressure centre over the Great Lakes this morning will approach the Maritimes today. Rain.. heavy at times.. will begin tonight and end late Friday. Generally 25 millimetres of rain are forecast with locally higher amounts near 50 millimetres forecast for areas from Halifax to Guysborough along the Atlantic coast.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
3:39 PM ADT Thursday 07 April 2016Rainfall warning in effect for:
- St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County
Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.
A low pressure system over the eastern Great Lakes will approach the Maritimes tonight.
Periods of rain associated with this system will become heavy at times over New Brunswick tonight. The heaviest rainfall amounts are expected in southwestern New Brunswick where an additional 30 millimetres can be expected in a 6 to 9 hour period.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

- Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
A developing low pressure system near the Great Lakes will approach the Maritimes later today. Strong southerlies will develop ahead of this system. This will give higher than normal water levels to southwestern Nova Scotia and to New Brunswick along the Bay of Fundy. This will combine with a period of unusually high tides.
These water levels could reach warning criteria for storm surge at high tide near midnight tonight.

These water levels could reach warning criteria for storm surge at high tide near midnight tonight.
