TUESDAY...

* WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* TIMING...5 AM Tuesday through 2 PM Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
  lines. Numerous power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM TO 2 PM EDT
TUESDAY...

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* TIMING...5 AM Tuesday through 2 PM Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
  limbs could be blown down and scattered power outages may
  result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Strong southerly winds gusting to 90 km/h along parts of the coast are forecast to develop overnight and continue into Tuesday morning. Winds will diminish somewhat as they shift to westerly by noon on Tuesday.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
