Special weather statement in effect for:
  • Lunenburg County
Elevated coastal water levels in the Bay of Fundy and southwestern shore today.
An intensifying low pressure system will track across Quebec today. Ahead of this system rain and strong southeast winds will develop. These strong winds will generate a storm surge and in combination with a high tidal cycle will give elevated coastal water levels at the high tide today. Additionally rough surf is expected along exposed parts of the coastline today.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.

Elevated coastal water levels along the southern coast of the Acadian Peninsula and in the Bay of Chaleur later today.
An intensifying low pressure system will track across Quebec today. Strong southeasterly winds ahead of the low will generate a storm surge and in combination with a high tidal cycle will give elevated coastal water levels at the high tide today. Additionally rough surf is expected along exposed parts of the coastline in the Bay of Chaleur and along the southern coast of the Acadian Peninsula.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.

Storm surge warning in effect for:
  • Yarmouth County
High Storm Surge levels and large waves are expected to impact the coast.

An intensifying low pressure system will track across quebec today. Ahead of this system strong southerly winds will generate storm
surge and in combination with a high tidal cycle will give elevated coastal water levels at the high tide this afternoon. Additionally
high waves and rough surf is expected along exposed parts of the coastline this after.
High waves combined with the surge may cause damage along the coast. Coastal flooding is possible along the shoreline. Stay away from affected shorelines. People close to the shoreline should stay on the lookout for worsening conditions.

Storm surge warnings are issued when water levels pose a threat to coastal regions.
