Wind warning for
Cumberland County North and Cobequid Pass continued
Southwest winds gusting to 90 km/h are expected Friday and Friday night.
This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.
A low pressure system will track north of the region on Friday while its associated trough crosses the Maritimes. Les Suetes winds up to 90 km/h are expected to develop tonight over the Cape Breton Highlands ahead of the trough. This feature will also trigger very strong southwesterly wind gusts to 90 km/h over the Tantramar Marsh area on Friday, and into Friday evening. Local gusts to 90 km/h are also possible along parts of the coast for eastern nova and Cape Breton for late Friday afetrnoon and Friday night.
Rainfall asscociated with the storm is expected to be in 20 to 30 millimetres range for most of Mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton with locally heaveir amounts as high as 40 millimetres.
