Snowfall warning in effect for:

Fredericton and Southern York County
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected on New Year's Eve.

Locations: central to northern New Brunswick.

Time span: Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning.

Remarks: Snow will begin in the southwest Tuesday morning and spread towards the northeast by Tuesday afternoon. Central and eastern parts of the province could see a period of pellets or freezing rain or a changeover to rain overnight on Wednesday before tapering off to flurries in the morning.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

...A winter storm to affect the region tonight into Tuesday
night...

.Low pressure will develop along the Delmarva coast this evening
and will track to near Cape Cod by Tuesday morning. The low will
pass along the Downeast coast during the day Tuesday and will
pull away into the Maritimes Tuesday night. The storm will bring
all snow north of a line from Houlton to Dover-Foxcroft with
mixed precipitation to the south. Along the coast, the mixed
precipitation will change to rain by around midday Tuesday.

* WHEN...From 1 AM Tuesday to 1 AM EST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute and New
  Year`s Eve.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel extremely dangerous. If you must
travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle
in case of an emergency.
