A major weather system will affect New Brunswick starting Tuesday evening. The system will spread an area of heavy rain across the
regions. Temperatures will be near the freezing mark during the onset of the rain especially over inland areas away from the Bay of Funday resulting in patchy freezing rain. Total rainfall amounts in excess of 50 millimetres are possible through Wednesday.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

A low pressure system is forecast to develop along the Eastern Seaboard tonight and intensify as it moves northward towards New England on Tuesday. Confidence regarding the potential for freezing rain is increasing for northern parts of the province. The main impact from this system will be ice accumulation from the freezing rain and the rainfall amounts from the heavy rain which is likely later Wednesday before it ends on Thursday. However some uncertainty remains with respect to the track of the system which would impact precipitation type and amounts.

Freezing rain warning in effect for:
- Fredericton and Southern York County
A major weather system will affect New Brunswick starting Tuesday evening. The system will spread an area of freezing rain across the regions resulting in significant ice accumulation. Temperatures will slowly rise above the freezing mark on Wednesday.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
