...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EDT

SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 7

  inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Northern Penobscot, Southeast Aroostook, Northeast

  Aroostook, and Northwest Aroostook Counties.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM EDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Gusty winds will cause

  some blowing and drifting of the snow in the open fields of

  Aroostook and Northern Penobscot counties.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures will be falling below freezing

  which may cause untreated surfaces to become slippery.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause

primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited

visibilities, and use caution while driving.

* WHAT...Northwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* WHERE...Southern Somerset, Central Somerset, Northern Franklin,

  Northern Oxford, Southern Franklin, and Southern Oxford Counties.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM EDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects,

  especially at higher elevations and immediately downwind of

  mountains. Tree limbs could be blown down and power outages may

  result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high

profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Rain transitions to heavy, wet snow tonight.

Total snowfall: 10 except 20 cm over higher terrain.

Maximum wind gusts: northwesterly 60 km/h.

Locations: western New Brunswick.

Time span: this evening until near noon Saturday.

Remarks: Rain will begin to mix with snow this evening then changeover to wet, heavy snow by later tonight. Snow will diminish by Saturday afternoon.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Total snowfall: 5 to 10 cm, possibly reaching 15 cm over higher terrain.

Maximum wind gusts: northwesterly 60 km/h.

Locations: parts of western to central New Brunswick.

Time span: beginning later tonight until Saturday afternoon.

Remarks: Rain will begin to mix with snow later this evening then changeover to wet, heavy snow overnight tonight, with most areas transitioned to snow by Saturday morning. Snow will diminish by Saturday afternoon. 

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate. Motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions.
