Snowfall warning in effect for:

Fredericton and Southern York County
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.

Locations: southern, central, and northern New Brunswick.

Time span: beginning early Friday morning until Friday evening.

Remarks: A frontal trough of low pressure will give snow for northern New Brunswick and snow and ice pellets at times heavy for central and southern areas for much of Friday before tapering off to flurries in the evening. The highest accumulations are expected to occur over south and central regions.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Freezing rain warning in effect for:

Saint John and County
Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Locations: southern New Brunswick.

Time span: beginning Friday morning and ending Friday afternoon.

Remarks: Precipitation will begin as snow except rain along the Fundy coast early Friday morning, and then transition through a period of freezing rain by mid morning, before changing ice pellets then tapering off to flurries Friday evening.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Queens County P.E.I.
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.

Time span: beginning Friday morning and ending by early Saturday morning.

Remarks: Mainly snow is expected over Prince County, while snow with a period of ice pellets is forecast for Queens and Kings counties. Friday night, snow will taper to scattered flurries before ending by early Saturday morning.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Locations: province wide excluding northern Cape Breton and southwestern areas of mainland Nova Scotia.

Time span: beginning late Friday morning and ending late Friday evening.

Remarks: The province will see a mix of snow, ice pellets, freezing rain and rain beginning Friday morning. Most areas of Nova Scotia will see a prolonged period of freezing rain Friday afternoon and evening. Freezing rain and ice pellets will change to snow or flurries Friday night before ending Saturday morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
