At 900 PM EST...Surface observations across much of the Northeast
depict clearing skies and chilly temperatures as the fast moving
Nor'easter quickly pulls away into the Atlantic. Scattered snow
showers and some lake effect snow bands were noted as a cold front
draped atop the system approaches from the north.

Discussion.
An intense low pressure system that tracked south of Nova Scotia
Tuesday night will track south of Newfoundland today. Much of
southern and eastern Nova Scotia received heavy snow and blowing
snow Tuesday night. Snow has ended over western and central regions
and will end over eastern areas later today. However, periods of
snow or snow squalls are expected to continue over onshore areas of
western Cape Breton today and tonight and Thursday.
