* PRECIPITATION TYPE...SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN.
* ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW. UP TO ONE QUARTER INCH
OF ICE ALONG A LINE FROM BANGOR AND BUCKSPORT TO CALAIS. MOSTLY
RAIN IS NOW EXPECTED SOUTH OF A LINE FROM ELLSWORTH TO EASTPORT.
* TIMING...LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT.
* TEMPERATURES...LOWS TONIGHT IN THE MID TO UPPER TEENS INTERIOR
AREAS...WITH MID 30S ALONG THE COAST.

Queens County P.E.I. continued
Up to 15 centimetres of snow expected tonight before briefly changing to rain Monday morning.
This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.
A low pressure system will develop over the U.S. Eastern Seaboard later today and track northeastward and is expected to cross Nova Scotia early Monday morning. This system will bring significant snow along with strong winds to Prince Edward Island tonight before changing over to rain briefly Monday morning. Snowfall amounts up to 15 centimetres are expected.

A low pressure system will develop over the U.S. Eastern Seaboard later today and track northeastward and is expected to cross Nova Scotia early Monday morning. This system will bring rain and snow along with strong winds to Nova Scotia later today and tonight before ending Monday morning.
Precipitation is expected to begin as rain over Southwestern Nova Scotia this evening. Elsewhere in the province the precipitation will begin as snow this evening before changing to rain. Snowfall will vary greatly across the province before the changeover to rain, with the highest amounts - between 15 and 25 centimetres - expected over Northern Cumberland County as well as Victoria County in Cape Breton. There is a risk of freezing rain in some areas before the change over to rain. The highest rainfall amounts - between 20 and 30 millimeters - is expected over Southwestern Nova Scotia. Given the existing snow cover and frozen ground over much of the province, this rainfall could possibly lead to localized flooding or ponding of water on road surfaces.
In addition...Wind gusts exceeding 130 km/h are expected in Inverness County from Margaree Harbour to Bay St Lawrence overnight and tomorrow morning.
Higher than normal water levels and rough pounding surf can be expected along the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia Monday morning during high tide.

Grand Manan and Coastal Charlotte County continued
Up to 30 millimetres of rain expected.
This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.
A winter storm will develop over the U.S. Eastern Seaboard this afternoon and track northeastward passing over Nova Scotia on Monday.
The heavier snow associated with this system will move into the region this evening then change to rain or freezing rain over southern sections overnight. The precipitation will taper to a few flurries Monday morning. Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 25 centimetres are expected across Southern New Brunswick with 30 millimetres of rain expected over Grand Manan Island.
In addition, gusty easterly winds along with some freezing rain are expected in a band from Charlotte County to Queens and Kings counties to southeastern regions of the province. A sharp cold front is expected to push Arctic air over the province on New Year's Eve making recovery from last week's freezing rain event more difficult.
