Special weather statement in effect for:

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
An approaching area of low pressure will spread much warmer temperatures and rain across Nova Scotia tonight and Sunday. At this time, rainfall

amounts in the 15 to 20 millimetre range are forecast along the Atlantic coast. These rainfall amounts, combined with the accumulated snowpack over

recent days, could result in localized flooding.
Additionally on Sunday evening, temperatures will plummet below zero, causing rain to change quickly to flurries, which may produce hazardous

road conditions.

Rainfall warning in effect for:

Cumberland County - Minas Shore
Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

An approaching low pressure system will spread warm temperatures and rain across much of the Maritimes tonight and Sunday. Rainfall amounts of

20 to 30 millimetres are forecast for regions along the Bay of Fundy. These rainfall amounts, combined with the accumulated snowpack over recent

days, could result in localized flooding.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

A warm front will approach northwest New Brunswick on Sunday. Snow will continue tonight and intensify Sunday morning. Snow may mix with or

change to ice pellets and freezing rain through the day Sunday. Precipitation should end by Sunday evening. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 centimetres

are currently expected.

Freezing rain warning in effect for:

Woodstock and Carleton County
Significant ice build-up due to freezing rain is expected or occurring.

An approaching warm front will bring an extended period of freezing rain to the area on Sunday. Freezing rain will begin Sunday morning over

southwest New Brunswick and will spread up to northeast New Brunswick by noon. Freezing rain should change over to rain for many regions

Sunday afternoon. All precipitation is expected to end Sunday evening followed by a significant drop in temperatures to back below the freezing mark.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and extremely hazardous. Consider postponing non-essential

travel until conditions improve. Ice build-up may cause downed trees.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

A warm front will approach southern New Brunswick on Sunday. Freezing rain is possible Sunday morning before changing to rain later in the

morning. Freezing rain warnings may be required if a prolonged period of freezing rain is expected. Along the Fundy coast, freezing rain is not

expected, but the area could receive up to 25 millimetres of rain before the rain ends Sunday evening. A rapid cool down on Sunday evening could

lead to some slippery conditions.
