* THROUGH AUGUST 28TH

JUNE 2013 WAS THE 5TH WETTEST ON RECORD WITH 6.06 INCHES OF RAIN...AND WAS FOLLOWED BY THE 2ND WETTEST JULY ON RECORD WITH 7.27 INCHES OF RAIN. SO FAR THIS AUGUST A TOTAL OF 5.57 INCHES OF RAIN HAS BEEN OBSERVED...WHICH EVEN IF THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WOULD MAKE THIS AUGUST THE 12TH WETTEST ON RECORD. THE ALL-TIME WETTEST AUGUST (AND MONTH) AT CARIBOU WAS IN 1981 WHEN A TOTAL OF 12.09 INCHES OF RAIN WAS OBSERVED. MORE SHOWERS ARE IN THE FORECAST TO CLOSE OUT THE MONTH ON SATURDAY...AND IF ANOTHER 6 TENTHS OF AN INCH (0.60") FALLS BETWEEN NOW AND THE END OF THE MONTH THIS AUGUST WOULD GO DOWN IN THE RECORD BOOKS AS ONE OF THE TOP TEN WETTEST.
