A heavy rainfall event occurred Friday into Saturday across portions
of Nova Scotia. Below is a preliminary report of amounts received at

...Heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms continue across the
Southeast coast...
A Tornado Watch is in effect through this afternoon for portions
of Central and North Florida and southeastern Georgia.
Flood Warnings are in effect for many streams and rivers in the
Lower Mississippi Valley and Southeast.
Wind Advisories are in effect across much of the Lower Mississippi
Valley and Southeast.

At 900 AM CDT...An occluded low pressure system was swinging
across the Southeast with a trailing cold front positioned across
the eastern Alabama and the Florida panhandle and a warm front
positioned across central Georgia into South Carolina. Regional
radar mosaic and surface observations depict a complex of heavy
thunderstorms which were gradually translating eastward across
portions of Florida, southeastern Georgia, and eastern South
Carolina in the warm sector of the system, ahead of the
approaching cold front and behind the warm front. A separate area
of widespread shower activity was noted along a draped stationary
front across the Middle Mississippi Valley and Ohio River Valley.

The low pressure system is forecast to track northwards today and
tomorrow. The trailing cold front will push offshore of the
Southeast overnight tonight, bringing an end to heavy rainfall in
the Southeast. Some locally heavy rainfall will remain possible in
the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast through Friday as the storm
progresses. There are Slight Risks of Excessive Rainfall in effect
for portions of North Florida, southeastern Georgia, the
Mid-Atlantic, and the Ohio River Valley today, and for the
portions of Maine and New Hampshire on Friday. For more
