TUESDAY...


* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills and very cold wind chills

  expected. Wind chills as low as 40 below zero expected. Wind

  chills as low as 30 below zero expected.


* WHERE...Southeast Aroostook and Northern Penobscot Counties.


* WHEN...For the Wind Chill Warning, until noon EST Tuesday. For

  the Wind Chill Advisory, from noon to 6 PM EST Tuesday.


* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The dangerously cold wind chills could

  cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


A Wind Chill Warning means the combination of very cold air and

the wind will create dangerously low wind chill values. Frostbite

can occur quickly and even hypothermia or death if precautions

are not taken.


A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will

combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can

occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and

gloves.

Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:


Woodstock and Carleton County

A period of very cold wind chills is expected.


Coldest wind chills: -36.


Locations: central and northwestern New Brunswick.


Time span: late tonight until Tuesday morning, with a possibility for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.


Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.


Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.


Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
