EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 11 AM EST WEDNESDAY.

* PRECIPITATION TYPE...LIGHT SNOW...CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN AND
  SLEET...BECOMING PLAIN RAIN AROUND MIDDAY WEDNESDAY.

* ACCUMULATIONS...UP TO ONE INCH OF SNOW FOLLOWED BY UP TO A TENTH
  OF AN INCH OF SLEET AND ICE.

* TIMING...LATE TONIGHT UNTIL MIDDAY WEDNESDAY.

* TEMPERATURES...RISING FROM THE MID 20S TO ABOVE FREEZING.

* WINDS...SOUTH 10 TO 20 MPH.

Halifax County - east of Porters Lake issued

Southwesterly winds gusting to 90 km/h expected overnight Wednesday.

This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system developing over the Great Lakes region tonight will intensify on Wednesday as it moves across Southern Quebec. Strong south to southwest winds will develop across Nova Scotia Wednesday evening with gusts to 90 km/h expected across most of the mainland overnight.

These warnings will likely be extended to the rest of the mainland and Cape Breton in the 5 AM forecast Wednesday morning.

Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick issued

This is a warning that potentially damaging winds gusting to 90 km/h are expected for Wednesday night in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system developing over the Great Lakes region tonight will intensify on Wednesday as it moves across Central Quebec. Precipitation ahead of this system will begin as snow across much of New Brunswick tonight but snowfall amounts should remain under 5 centimetres. The snow will change to ice pellets then to freezing rain and finally to periods of rain by midday Wednesday. However northernmost regions of New Brunswick..Notably the counties of Restigouche and Madawaska..Should see the freezing rain persist from about midday until late afternoon. Strong south to southwest winds will also develop across New Brunswick Wednesday night with most southern regions likely experiencing gusts near 90 km/h beginning Wednesday evening.
