Special weather statement in effect for:

Kings County
Snow expected this evening could impact travel.

Periods of snow will taper to flurries later tonight. Periods of light snow or flurries could persist over northern regions on Saturday giving additional slight amounts.

At this time snowfall amounts up to 10 centimetres is expected tonight but could possibly exceed 15 centimetres in some areas through Saturday as some accumulating snow could persist over the VAlley and northern regions.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

The heaviest bands of snow have shifted further westward than previously expected and as a result heavy snowfall warnings have been extended further westward into central Nova Scotia

Snow at times heavy this evening will taper to flurries overnight. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 centimetres are likely. In addition a period of very strong easterly winds gusting up to 80 km/h will develop this evening giving at times near-zero visibilities in blowing snow tonight.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

Snow at times heavy are forecast giving near 20 centimetres by Saturday evening.

A low pressure system will approach New Brunswick from the southeast tonight then stall over eastern New Brunswick for most of Saturday. Snow at times heavy will develop this evening and persist tonight. Periods of snow are forecast to continue Saturday and likely into Saturday night. Near 20 centimetres are expected by Saturday night.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Queens County P.E.I.
Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Snow at times heavy will develop this evening but will ease in intensity overnight. Periods of snow will persist on Saturday. Total snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 centimetres are possible across the Island by late Saturday. Strong east to northeasterly winds gusting up to 80 km/h this evening will give near zero visibilities in blowing snow.

Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

A long period of snowfall is expected for portions of central New Brunswick tonight, Saturday and likely into Sunday.


A low pressure system will approach New Brunswick from the southeast tonight then stall over eastern New Brunswick for most of Saturday. Periods of snow are forecast to continue through tonight, Saturday and likely into Saturday night. Snowfall amounts for the duration of the event may approach or exceed 15cm.
