Special weather statement in effect for:

Mount Carleton - Renous Highway
Potentially significant freezing rain developing Sunday evening.

A low pressure system will track across the Maritimes overnight Sunday to lie over western Newfoundland by Monday morning.

Freezing rain is expected to begin over southern and central New Brunswick Sunday evening and spread northward over the course of the night. At this time, there remains some uncertainty regarding the onset and duration of the freezing rain. Slight changes in the position of this feature could significantly change the location and duration of the most persistent areas of freezing rain.

Environment and Climate Change Canada will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates or warnings as new information becomes available.

Yarmouth County
Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

A low pressure system will approach from the southwest today and move over the Maritimes Sunday night.

Rain will begin to move in from the southwest this morning and then continue through the weekend. Rainfall amounts of 25 millimetres are expected by Sunday, with total amounts possibly exceeding 40 millimetres in the Tri-county area of southwestern Nova Scotia.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
