Wind warning in effect for:

Acadian Peninsula

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum wind gusts: up to 90 km/h.

Locations: northeastern New Brunswick.

Time span: today and tonight.

Remarks: Strong west to northwest winds gusting to 90 km/h along parts of the Chaleur coast will persist through tonight. Winds are expected to drop below warning criteria by Wednesday morning. These very strong winds will cause extensive blowing snow, especially over exposed areas, and a blowing snow advisory is also in effect for these regions.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Blowing snow advisory in effect for:

Acadian Peninsula

Poor visibility in blowing snow is expected or occurring.

Maximum wind gusts: 70 to 90 km/h.

Locations: areas along the Bay of Chaleur coast.

Time span: continuing through early Wednesday morning.

Remarks: Fresh snowfall will combine with very strong west to northwesterly winds today to produce poor visibility in blowing snow. Conditions are expected to gradually improve on Wednesday.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.

Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.

Yarmouth County

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum wind gusts: up to 90 km/h.

Locations: coastal and exposed areas of Shelburne, Yarmouth, Digby counties.

Time span: continuing until later this evening.

Remarks: Strong west to northwest winds gusting to 90 km/h will gradually diminish later this evening and after midnight.

High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
