Winter Storm Kade Update Seven

Wind warning in effect for:

Queens County P.E.I.
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum gusts: 90 to 100 km/h.

Location: Prince Edward Island.

Time span: late this evening and overnight tonight.

Remarks: An intense low pressure system crossing the Gulf of St. Lawrence will bring several hours of strong southwesterly winds gusting to 90 km/h over exposed areas for Queens and Kings county later this evening, followed immediately by northwesterly winds gusting to 90 or 100 km/h to the entire Island beginning after midnight tonight and diminishing by Saturday morning.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Wind gusts: 90 to 110 km/h.

Location: Nova Scotia.

Time Span: late this evening through the overnight.

Remarks: Strong southwesterly winds gusting between 90 and 110 km/h will spread eastward overnight. Winds will diminish overnight in the southwest and Saturday morning over Cape Breton.

Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Maximum gusts: northerly 100 km/h.

Location: east coast of New Brunswick

Time span: overnight tonight.

Remarks: An intense low pressure system crossing the Maritimes may bring several hours of strong northerly winds to the region overnight. WInds will diminish Saturday morning as the system moves off.
