Special weather statement in effect for:
  • Queens County P.E.I.
Potential for significant snowfall Thursday night into Friday morning.
A series of low pressure systems will bring mild temperatures and periods of rain to the island over the next couple of days. As the last of these systems depart late on Thursday, colder air will move into the region from the north and change the rain to snow late in the day. Current guidance indicates this snow could persist into Friday morning and may give significant accumulations to parts of the island. Strong northeast winds are also expected to develop with this system Thursday night which could give reduced visibilities in blowing snow overnight and Friday morning.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.

Please monitor the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment Canada at www.weather.gc.ca.
